Hive Signs LOI for 30MW Lease in Boden, Sweden, to Support Deployment of 10,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs

Hive Blockchain Technologies has secured a letter of intent (LOI) for a 30-megawatt lease in Boden, Sweden, marking a significant expansion of its European digital infrastructure footprint. The facility will host a customer deploying 10,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs, underscoring the growing demand for high-performance computing capacity in the Nordic region.

The deal highlights Sweden’s strategic importance as a hub for energy-intensive data center operations, driven by abundant renewable energy and favorable climate conditions. Boden, located in northern Sweden, has emerged as a key location for large-scale deployments, offering low-cost hydroelectric power and stable grid infrastructure that are increasingly critical for AI and machine learning workloads.

Under the terms of the LOI, Hive will deliver 30MW of dedicated power capacity to support the customer’s GPU cluster, which is expected to be used for advanced AI training and inference tasks. The deployment of 10,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs represents one of the larger single-site GPU installations in the region, reflecting the rapid scaling of compute resources required by next-generation AI models.

Industry observers note that the agreement reinforces the trend of digital infrastructure providers pivoting toward high-density, AI-optimized facilities. The Nordic region, with its access to green energy and cooling efficiency, is increasingly seen as a preferred location for such deployments, potentially attracting further investment from hyperscale cloud providers and AI startups alike.
