Enigma-Led Consortium Secures $250 Million Deal to Build Data Centers for Polish Military

A consortium led by Polish technology firm Enigma has won a $250 million contract to design, build, and deliver data center systems for the Polish Armed Forces, marking one of the largest defense-related IT infrastructure projects in Central Europe. The deal underscores the growing strategic importance of sovereign data infrastructure as NATO allies modernize their military capabilities in response to heightened regional security threats.

Under the agreement, the consortium will provide a comprehensive suite of data center solutions, including modular facilities, power and cooling systems, networking equipment, and cybersecurity layers tailored for military-grade operations. The project is expected to support the Polish military’s digital transformation efforts, enabling secure data storage, real-time battlefield analytics, and resilient command-and-control systems. Enigma, which specializes in defense IT and encryption technologies, will coordinate with partners to ensure compliance with stringent NATO interoperability standards.

The contract comes amid a broader push by Poland to boost defense spending to over 4% of GDP, with a significant portion allocated to cyber defense and digital infrastructure. Analysts note that the deal reflects a wider trend among European governments to reduce reliance on foreign-owned cloud services for sensitive military applications, instead investing in domestically controlled data centers. The project is slated for phased delivery over the next three years, with the first sites expected to become operational by early 2028.
