Omnia Signs $2 Billion Wind Energy Deal with Casa dos Ventos to Power ByteDance Data Center in Brazil

Brazilian data center platform Omnia has entered into a landmark 20-year energy supply agreement with renewable energy developer Casa dos Ventos to power its upcoming data center, which is set to host TikTok owner ByteDance. The deal, valued at approximately $2 billion, underscores the growing demand for sustainable energy infrastructure to support hyperscale data centers in Latin America.

According to reporting from Reuters, the agreement will supply electricity to Omnia’s data center located at the Pecem port complex in the northeastern state of Ceara. The facility is currently under construction and, once completed, is expected to become the largest data center in Brazil, representing a total investment of more than $39 billion. Construction began in January 2026, with initial operations slated for the third quarter of 2027. The facility will expand gradually in phases through 2029.

The power will be sourced from the 630MW Ibiapaba wind complex and the Dom Inocencio wind farm in Piaui state, both owned and operated by Casa dos Ventos. The deal is structured as a self-production model, granting Omnia a stake in Casa’s assets, though the exact stake was not disclosed. This agreement marks Casa dos Ventos’ largest single offtaker deal to date, following previous power supply agreements with Odata and Ascenty in recent years.

The data center project first surfaced last year, with reports indicating an initial capacity of 300MW, with potential to scale to 900MW. Casa dos Ventos received regulatory approval for the project in June 2025, and Patria Investimentos joined the scheme the following month, acting as the main developer on behalf of Casa. Omnia is a subsidiary of Patria Investimentos, launched in May 2025 as a hyperscale data center platform aimed at meeting the growing demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Casa dos Ventos is one of Brazil’s largest renewable energy developers, with an operating and under-development portfolio of approximately 33.4GW of wind and solar projects, including 12GW in a joint venture with French energy giant TotalEnergies. The partnership with Omnia highlights the increasing convergence of renewable energy and hyperscale data center development in Brazil, driven by the country’s abundant wind resources and growing demand from global tech companies.

The deal signals a significant step for Brazil’s data center market, positioning the country as a key hub for AI and cloud infrastructure in Latin America. By securing a long-term renewable energy supply, Omnia aims to ensure cost predictability and sustainability for its operations, while Casa dos Ventos strengthens its position as a leading clean energy provider for the tech sector.
