Gaon Cable Expands U.S. AI Data Center Power Market with 60 Billion Won Busduct Supply Deal

South Korea’s Gaon Cable is accelerating its push into the U.S. generative AI data center power infrastructure market, securing a major busduct supply contract worth approximately 60 billion won through its American subsidiary, LSCUS. The deal, signed in recent weeks with a generative AI firm identified as Company O, marks the company’s expansion beyond its traditional big-tech customer base into the fast-growing generative AI sector. As AI data centers require enormous and stable electricity supplies, busducts—critical components for internal power distribution—have become essential for building reliable infrastructure. Gaon Cable expects this contract to open the door for additional orders as data center expansion continues across the U.S.

LSCUS has already established a strong foothold in the market by securing long-term busduct supply agreements with global big-tech companies totaling over 5 trillion won. The subsidiary’s ability to serve both segments underscores its growing influence in the AI infrastructure supply chain. Gaon Cable further differentiates itself through a vertically integrated business model that supplies both cables for external power grids and busducts for internal power distribution—a capability the company says is rare even within the wire and cable industry. This integrated approach is seen as a key competitive advantage in meeting the complex power needs of high-performance AI computing facilities.

Financial performance reflects this momentum. LSCUS reported first-quarter revenue of about 135 billion won, up more than 20% year-over-year, with revenue tied to AI data centers expected to surge by over 300% compared to the previous year. In addition to busducts, Gaon Cable is strengthening its cable business in the U.S. market. Earlier this month, it signed a contract to supply approximately 35 billion won worth of medium-voltage cables to U.S. AI data center power grids, with related revenue projected to exceed 100 billion won this year. Gaon Cable CEO Jeong Hyun stated, “Based on the technical capabilities and supply experience accumulated in the domestic power distribution cable market, we will continue to expand our efforts to target the U.S. AI data center power infrastructure market.”
