Crusoe Contracts Nearly 5 GW of AI Infrastructure as Total Development Pipeline Surpasses 40 GW
Crusoe, the AI factory company, announced on Tuesday that it has contracted 4.9 gigawatts (GW) of AI infrastructure across its data center projects and Crusoe Cloud platform, signaling a rapid acceleration in demand for vertically integrated AI infrastructure from hyperscalers, enterprises, and AI-native firms. The company’s total development pipeline, including projects under active tenant negotiation and those in advanced development, now exceeds 40 GW.
The milestone underscores the growing urgency among the world’s leading technology companies to secure large-scale AI computing capacity. Crusoe’s model, which co-develops power and construction from the outset rather than treating them as sequential steps, has enabled compressed timelines and reduced risk. The company manufactures long-lead electrical components at its own facilities in Colorado, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, and ships prefabricated equipment ready for installation, a strategy that has made it a preferred partner for hyperscale clients.

Crusoe’s contracted data center portfolio spans five AI campuses across the United States. At its flagship 1.2 GW campus in Abilene, Texas, purpose-built for Oracle, the first two buildings are operational and six more are under construction. The company recently broke ground on a second 900 MW campus in Abilene for Microsoft, and is also contracted to build two additional large-scale campuses in Texas and a fifth in Missouri, each at various stages of site work and construction. Each campus is paired with a dedicated power strategy tailored to local energy resources and site requirements.
The company’s integrated approach extends to Crusoe Cloud, its AI platform designed for training, inference, and high-performance computing. By designing, building, and operating its own infrastructure, Crusoe claims timing, performance, and economic advantages that allow customers to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure management. The broader market opportunity is significant: McKinsey & Company projects that AI-related data center capacity will require 156 GW by 2030, a target Crusoe’s pipeline of over 40 GW is positioned to address. The company’s power strategy includes natural gas, renewables, batteries, grid interconnection, and partnerships with leading energy infrastructure firms, enabling development in locations previously considered out of reach.
