The country's ICT ministry has scheduled the receipt and opening of bids for February 9, 2026, following a consultation period that concluded last December. The project, funded by a $130 million financing package from the Inter-American Development Bank (BID), involves the construction and installation of a Tier III modular data center with an estimated budget of $20 million. The core objective is to establish an on-premise private cloud platform capable of delivering a full suite of cloud services—Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS)—exclusively to public institutions. The facility must be designed to support an initial maximum capacity of 5 megawatts (MW), with a scalable architecture to accommodate future growth. National energy company ANDE will be responsible for providing the medium-voltage power supply from a nearby substation, including the necessary transformation system.
