Templus Expands Iberian Footprint with Acquisition of Three Grupo Aire Data Centers

Templus Expands Iberian Footprint with Acquisition of Three Grupo Aire Data Centers January 13, 2026 In a strategic move to consolidate its position in Southern Europe's rapidly growing digital infrastructure market, Spanish data center operator Templus has completed the acquisition of three facilities from Grupo Aire. The deal underscores the ongoing consolidation and investment wave in the sector, driven by rising demand for cloud, connectivity, and edge computing services across the Iberian Peninsula. The transaction, finalized this week, transfers ownership of Grupo Aire's OASIX-branded data centers located in Lisbon, Madrid, and Valencia to Templus. While financial terms were not disclosed, the acquisition adds a combined 6.5 megawatts of IT capacity to Templus's platform. The Lisbon facility offers space for 150 racks across 470 square meters, the Madrid site can host 256 racks within 992 square meters, and the Valencia data center provides capacity for 85 racks over 500 square meters. Nacho Velilla, CEO of Templus, emphasized the strategic importance of the deal, stating, "This agreement reinforces Templus' commitment to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence, and consolidates a long-term relationship with a leading operator in connectivity and cloud." The acquisition marks Templus's entry into the Portuguese market while significantly deepening its presence in key Spanish economic hubs. This purchase is part of Templus's aggressive expansion strategy following its launch in 2024. Combined with its recent acquisition of nine AtlasEdge data centers across Europe, the company's total operational capacity is now on track to exceed 60 MW by 2026. Templus has announced plans to implement infrastructure improvement programs across all newly acquired assets to increase power, usable space, and energy efficiency. As part of the agreement, Grupo Aire becomes a strategic partner of Templus and will continue to serve its customers from the sold facilities. The Spanish telecom and managed services group, whose brands include Aire Networks and Ar Telecom, will also gain opportunities to expand its services to Templus's other Spanish assets. The deal highlights a trend where operators are monetizing infrastructure assets to focus on core service offerings while forging partnerships with specialized data center owners.
