RadiusDC Unveils 24MW Edge Data Center Campus in Indianapolis Metro Area

RadiusDC Announces Major Edge Expansion with New Indianapolis Campus January 12, 2026 The strategic expansion of edge computing infrastructure into secondary U.S. markets is accelerating, driven by demand for low-latency services from cloud providers, AI applications, and enterprises. This trend underscores the growing importance of placing high-performance computing capacity closer to end-users beyond traditional hyperscale hubs. Regional edge data center operator RadiusDC has officially announced plans to develop a new 24-megawatt (MW) colocation campus in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The company, which focuses on metro markets, confirmed the project this week after securing unanimous planning permission from the Plainfield Planning Commission last week. The campus, to be located in Plainfield, Indiana, will be built on a 31-acre site at the southeast corner of Smith Road and Allpoints Parkway. The development, named the Indy I facility, represents the initial phase of the campus. Each of the planned two buildings will span approximately 100,835 square feet (9,368 square meters). The site includes provisions for a future matching facility, Indy II, and will be powered by a new substation currently under development adjacent to the property. The design of Indy I will mirror the company's Nashville I facility, which is presently under construction. In a statement, RadiusDC CEO Mike Krza emphasized the project's role in supporting regional digital growth: "We are proud to announce Indy I, a project that is set to supercharge central Indiana’s digital infrastructure and support the region’s rapidly growing demand for low-latency, high-performance computing at the Edge. Indy I represents the next chapter in RadiusDC's evolution with a ground-up design purpose-built to deliver exactly what our customers need — performance, reliability, and scalability for the future." The Indianapolis announcement marks a significant step in RadiusDC's aggressive national expansion. The company, originally launched in 2022 by IPI Partners and now owned by asset manager Blue Owl, has been actively building its footprint. Its existing portfolio includes facilities in Denver, Colorado, and Miami, Florida, with recent acquisitions and groundbreakings in Nashville, Tennessee, and Atlanta, Georgia, signaling a concerted push to establish a coast-to-coast edge network. This new campus positions RadiusDC to capture demand in the strategically important Midwest, further solidifying the Indianapolis region as an emerging data center destination.
