Yondr Commissions Second Data Center at Virginia Campus, Expanding Capacity in Key Market December 19, 2025 Global data center developer Yondr Group has announced the readiness for service of its second facility at its campus in Loudoun County, Virginia, marking a significant expansion in the world's largest data center market. This development underscores the relentless demand for digital infrastructure driven by cloud computing and artificial intelligence, with Northern Virginia remaining a critical hub for hyperscale and enterprise deployments. The company confirmed this week that the initial 12-megawatt phase of the new building is now operational. The facility represents the second of two planned data centers at the company's 96MW campus, developed in partnership with JK Land Holding. Yondr completed the first 48MW data center on the site last year. The newly launched building has a total planned capacity of 48MW, with the remaining 36MW scheduled to come online in 2026. The expansion does not stop there. Yondr has a further 240MW of capacity in the pipeline for an adjacent land parcel. Once fully developed, the entire campus will offer a total of 336MW of critical IT load, solidifying Yondr's footprint in the strategically important region. Todd Sauer, Vice President of Design and Construction for the Americas at Yondr Group, commented on the milestone: “This RFS milestone is the latest in a series of achievements across our North American data center portfolio and continues the strong progress we’re making in the important Northern Virginia market.” The move is part of Yondr's broader investment strategy in high-growth markets. John Madden, Yondr's Chief Data Center Officer, added, “As demand for capacity continues to increase, we are stepping up our investment in North America, a high-growth, dynamic market full of opportunities. We look forward to expanding in the region and continuing to deliver scalable, reliable solutions that meet our customers’ evolving digital infrastructure needs.” Yondr, headquartered in London, operates a global portfolio across Europe, Asia, and North America. The company was recently acquired by DigitalBridge and Canadian pension fund manager La Caisse in a deal that closed in July, with German financial giant Allianz subsequently acquiring a minority stake. This latest commissioning in Virginia demonstrates the new ownership's commitment to accelerating growth in core markets. Source: datacenterdynamics
