Chindata Launches Next-Generation AI Data Center Total Solution December 17, 2025 Chinese hyperscale data center operator Chindata Group Holdings Ltd. has launched a comprehensive, full-stack infrastructure solution designed specifically for the escalating demands of artificial intelligence workloads. The announcement comes as the industry grapples with the challenges of powering and cooling increasingly dense and dynamic GPU clusters, where traditional data center designs face significant bottlenecks. The new platform, named the AI Data Center Total Solution Next, integrates power, cooling, architectural design, and intelligent monitoring into a unified framework. Chindata stated the system is built around six core pillars critical for AI compute: performance, flexibility, efficiency, modularity, scalability, and intelligence. "The framework is designed to support AI deployments at any scale, stage, or density," the company noted in a public announcement. A key component is the X-Power architecture, which supports power densities ranging from 12 kW to 150 kW per rack. Utilizing 800V high-voltage direct current (HVDC), multi-layer energy storage, and a high-voltage design, it aims to eliminate power constraints for large-scale AI clusters. For thermal management, the accompanying X-Cooling portfolio offers air, liquid, and hybrid solutions capable of supporting up to 200kW per rack through prefabricated modules and dynamic energy optimization. The system is rounded out by the X-Monitoring platform for fault detection and energy use optimization. Chindata's Chief Technology Officer, Xue Guoqing, emphasized the system's strategic importance, stating, "AI and energy are reshaping the compute paradigm. We are committed to advancing system-level innovation with our ecosystem partners to build the next generation of power-compute infrastructure." The company is collaborating with vendors including Meituan, HEC Group, and Delta Electronics on what it claims is the world's first solid-state transformer-based intelligent DC power system for AI data centers. This solution, slated for deployment at a Northern China campus, promises 98.5 percent efficiency while reducing its physical footprint by 70 percent. The launch coincides with Chindata's ambitious expansion plans. The company recently announced a partnership with the Shaoguan Municipal Government and HEC Group to establish a major data center campus in Guangdong Province. The first phase of this project is planned for the Qujiang Development Zone and will feature 60,000 standard racks with an IT capacity of 150MW. The company envisions the campus eventually reaching a gigawatt scale, positioning it as a significant catalyst for regional digital economic growth. Chindata's move signals a strategic shift in the Asian data center market towards vertically integrated, AI-optimized infrastructure. By addressing the critical power and cooling challenges inherent in high-performance computing, the solution could set a new benchmark for efficiency and scalability, influencing how future AI clusters are designed and built across the industry.
