Henox Announces Ambitious 100MW Data Center and Subsea Connectivity Projects December 16, 2025 In a significant move to bolster India's digital infrastructure, domestic data center firm Henox IT & Datacenters Private Limited has announced two major projects this week: a new cable landing station in Gujarat and a massive 100-megawatt data center campus in Tamil Nadu. The announcements underscore the rapid expansion of India's data center market, driven by surging data consumption, cloud adoption, and government digitalization initiatives. The company first signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Gujarat and Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT) to develop a cable landing station (CLS) at Dhuvaran. As the strategic technology partner, Henox will be responsible for designing, building, and operating the CLS along with a dedicated high-capacity fiber route into GIFT City. This project is strategically important as no submarine cables currently land in Gujarat, with most existing connections on India's west coast concentrated in Mumbai. Separately, Henox detailed plans for its "Project Horizon" initiative in Tamil Nadu, which centers on the construction of a 100MW data center. The broader project, backed by an investment commitment of Rs 50,000 crore (approximately $5.5 billion), also encompasses additional cable landing stations, subsea cables, and solar power projects across the state. UAE-based Siraj Holdings Group, through its subsidiary Maverick Investments Limited, is backing the venture with an initial investment of Rs 200 crore ($2.2 million). Khadeer Peer Shariff, chairman of Maverick Investments, called the project "a watershed moment," stating, "Our Rs 50,000 Crore commitment with Henox reflects deep confidence in Tamil Nadu’s future and India’s digital expansion. We are laying the foundation for the state’s technological renaissance." Shaktivel K, CEO of Henox Data Centers, added that the partnership brings together "sustainable infrastructure, subsea connectivity, and AI-ready capacity on an unprecedented scale," describing Project Horizon as "one of India’s most ambitious digital infrastructure initiatives." The dual announcements position Henox as a key player in addressing India's growing need for interconnected, high-capacity data center and connectivity solutions. By integrating subsea cable access with large-scale data center development, the projects aim to reduce latency, improve international bandwidth, and support the next wave of technologies, including artificial intelligence, within the region.
