KevlinX Launches Belgium's Largest Data Center in Brussels

December 9, 2025

KevlinX Data Centers has announced the readiness for service of its inaugural facility in Brussels, a significant addition to Europe's competitive digital infrastructure landscape. The launch underscores the ongoing expansion of data center capacity in key European hubs to meet rising demand from cloud, AI, and enterprise services.

The Belgian operator confirmed this week that its BRU01 data center, which broke ground in September 2023, is now operational and accepting customers. The company described the milestone as pivotal, stating on LinkedIn, "We proudly celebrate the RFS of our BRU01 data center in Brussels, a major milestone for our team and for the region." The facility, with a total capacity of 32 megawatts, is billed as the largest data center in Belgium.

The newly opened campus spans a substantial 25,400 square meters (273,400 square feet), with 11,350 square meters (122,170 square feet) dedicated to white space for IT equipment. The project, majority-owned by Macquarie Capital, was originally targeted for completion in the third quarter of 2025.

The entry of KevlinX intensifies competition in the Brussels market, which already hosts approximately 50 data centers operated by firms including Digital Realty, Penta Infra, and EdgeConneX. The scale of the 32MW facility provides a substantial boost to the country's total IT load, positioning Brussels to capture more hyperscale and wholesale colocation demand. This development reflects a broader trend of strategic investment in established European economic and political capitals to support the region's accelerating digital transformation.
