PAG-Backed Flow Digital Infrastructure Launches First Data Center in the Philippines

Flow Digital Infrastructure Launches Strategic Data Center Campus Near Manila December 5, 2025 In a significant move to bolster digital infrastructure in Southeast Asia, Flow Digital Infrastructure, backed by Asia-focused investment manager PAG, has officially launched its first data center in the Philippines. The opening marks a key step in addressing the region's growing demand for high-quality data center capacity, driven by rapid digitalization, cloud adoption, and increasing data sovereignty requirements. The facility, named ML1, is the inaugural phase of a larger campus developed by A-Flow, a joint venture between Flow Digital Infrastructure and Philippine real estate giant AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp. Located in Laguna, approximately 35 kilometers south of Manila, the newly operational data center offers an initial IT capacity of 6 megawatts. Upon the full build-out of its planned three-building campus, the site is designed to deliver a total of 36MW of critical IT load. The project's timeline underscores a committed, multi-year investment. Following PAG's launch of the Flow investment platform in late 2021, the partnership with Ayala was announced in May 2022, with a formal agreement signed in October of that year. Construction on the first phase commenced in December 2022, and the structure was topped out by September 2024, leading to last week's official launch. Sanjay Goel, President of A-Flow, emphasized the facility's strategic role, stating, "The launch of ML1 demonstrates our commitment to supporting digital transformation in the Philippines, establishing it as a hub that enhances the connectivity and management of data across Southeast Asia and beyond. Data Centers like ML1 are catalysts for digital innovation across businesses, giving the Philippines a competitive advantage on the global stage." Local government officials also hailed the project's significance. Biñan City Mayor Angelo Alonte remarked, "Today marks a transformative moment for Biñan City. The launch of the first A-FLOW Data Center is more than the unveiling of a state-of-the-art facility, it signals a new era for digital innovation and economic growth in the Philippines." The entry of a PAG-backed platform into the Philippine market signals growing investor confidence in the country's digital economy. It also positions Ayala Corporation, which has also invested in Globe Telecom's data center unit, as a major domestic player in the infrastructure sector. This development is expected to provide crucial capacity for hyperscalers, enterprises, and telecom operators, reducing reliance on overseas data hubs and supporting the Philippines' ambition to become a more prominent digital node within the Asia-Pacific region.
