Vantage Data Centers Commissions Fully Pre-Leased 16MW Facility in Malaysia, Completing First Cyberjaya Campus
December 3, 2025
Vantage Data Centers has officially brought its fourth and final facility on the KUL1 campus in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, into operation, marking the completion of its inaugural data center development in the country. The newly launched KUL14 data center, with a capacity of 16 megawatts (MW), is already fully leased to a single hyperscale customer, highlighting the strong demand for premium digital infrastructure in one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic markets.
The launch underscores Malaysia's rapid ascent as a critical data center hub for the region, driven by strategic location, supportive government policies, and escalating demand from cloud and AI service providers. Vantage's expansion here is a direct response to this trend, aiming to capture a significant share of the growing market.
Constructed following the company's "sustainable by design" blueprint, the KUL14 facility incorporates design innovations aimed at industry-leading efficiency. A key feature is its closed-loop chilled water system, which minimizes water consumption to achieve a virtually zero water usage effectiveness (WUE) rating, aligning with both corporate sustainability goals and local governmental priorities for environmentally conscious development.
The project's execution also emphasized rigorous safety standards. Throughout the construction phase, which required over 4 million work hours to complete, Vantage reported zero lost-time incidents, a record the company attributes to its safety-first culture and that of its construction partners.
Jeremy Deutsch, president of Vantage Data Centers for APAC, stated, "We are thrilled to welcome our customer to KUL14 and support their expanding business. Malaysia has emerged as Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing data center hub, and Vantage is actively expanding our footprint to grow with our customers." Deutsch also highlighted the company's ongoing development of a second campus in Cyberjaya, which is planned to deliver over 400MW of total IT capacity.
The operational KUL1 campus now forms a key part of Vantage's broader Asia Pacific portfolio, which encompasses approximately 1 gigawatt (GW) of operational and planned capacity across markets including Australia, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The company's continued investment in Malaysia is positioned not only to serve hyperscale demand but also to support the nation's broader digitalization and economic growth ambitions.
