Subzero Engineering Opens New APAC Manufacturing and R&D Hub in Vietnam
December 1, 2025
In a strategic move to capture growth in one of the world's fastest-growing digital infrastructure markets, Subzero Engineering, a global provider of data center containment solutions, has inaugurated a new manufacturing and research facility in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This expansion underscores the intensifying demand for efficient and sustainable data center infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region, driven by cloud adoption, AI workloads, and rapid digitalization.
The newly established facility will serve as Subzero Engineering's central hub for its APAC operations. Designed to enhance supply chain agility and regional responsiveness, the site will manufacture a comprehensive suite of products including hot and cold aisle containment systems, modular enclosures, and advanced airflow management technologies. The investment positions the company closer to key customer segments and is expected to significantly improve lead times for regional clients.
Midge Pan, General Manager for APAC at Subzero Engineering, emphasized the strategic rationale behind the choice of Vietnam. "This expansion is about more than infrastructure - it's about proximity to our partners, agility in the supply chain and speed to market," Pan stated. "Vietnam offers a unique combination of talent, resilience and strategic location that enables us to meet APAC's growing demand for cutting-edge digital infrastructure."
A core component of the facility is its dedicated research and development function, aimed at accelerating innovation tailored to regional requirements. This R&D focus will address emerging trends such as high-density computing for artificial intelligence and sustainable data center operations. To support this innovation drive, the company plans to create over 50 new technical roles in Vietnam, spanning software engineering, R&D, and advanced manufacturing.
Sustainability is integrated into the facility's design, featuring on-site solar power generation and high-efficiency building systems to minimize its carbon footprint. This aligns with the company's global environmental commitments. "We're building a future-ready operation that combines environmental responsibility with engineering excellence," Pan added, framing the move as part of a long-term commitment to sustainable innovation in APAC.
The Vietnam hub marks a critical step in Subzero Engineering's strategy to establish a consistent global presence with local expertise, complementing its existing operations in North America and Europe. By localizing production and R&D, the company aims to raise industry standards for responsive support and tailored solutions, strengthening its competitive position in the dynamic APAC digital infrastructure landscape.
