In a significant move to bolster Europe's artificial intelligence infrastructure, U.S. chipmaker NVIDIA Corp. and German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom AG have unveiled plans to construct a state-of-the-art data center in Germany, with an estimated investment of €1 billion (approximately $1.2 billion).

The project will be jointly funded by the two technology leaders, according to a Bloomberg News report which cited individuals familiar with the matter. The new facility has already secured Europe's largest software company, SAP SE, as a key anchor customer.

A formal announcement for the initiative is scheduled for an event in Berlin next month. The high-profile gathering is expected to be attended by Deutsche Telekom CEO Tim Höttges, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, SAP CEO Christian Klein, and German Digital Minister Karsten Wildberger.

This joint venture marks a major step in expanding advanced AI computing capacity within a major European market. The collaboration between a leading AI hardware developer and a premier telecom provider signifies a concentrated effort to build the foundational infrastructure required for next-generation artificial intelligence systems.
