VoltaGrid and Halliburton Forge Partnership to Power Global Data Centers with Distributed Energy

October 22, 2025

Texas-based gas generation provider VoltaGrid has entered a strategic partnership with oilfield services giant Halliburton to develop and deploy distributed power generation systems for the global data center market, with an initial focus on the Middle East.

The alliance aims to leverage VoltaGrid's expertise in distributed power and energy solutions with Halliburton's extensive global operational footprint and infrastructure capabilities. The companies plan to collaborate on designing, building, and operating scalable, efficient power systems to address the data center sector's escalating demand for reliable and lower-emission energy.

Under the agreement, the partnership will integrate turbines, reciprocating engines, and VoltaGrid's proprietary QPac platform to deliver comprehensive, turnkey distributed generation solutions for data center clients.

"We are pleased to partner with VoltaGrid in bringing innovative power generation technologies to Halliburton’s global marketplace," said Jeff Miller, Chairman, President, and CEO of Halliburton. "This initiative highlights our efforts to enable sustainable energy solutions through collaboration and operational excellence."

The core of the offering, the QPac platform, is a modular natural gas power system where each reciprocating node can generate up to 20 megawatts (MW) of power. According to VoltaGrid, these nodes can be combined to deliver over 200MW of prime power under a minor source air permit. The QPac solution was officially launched earlier this year in partnership with gas engine developer Jenbacher.

As part of the collaboration, Halliburton will contribute its global logistics network and regional regulatory experience, while VoltaGrid will provide engineering design, technology development, and procurement expertise. The companies assert that this combined strength will offer data center operators enhanced reliability and execution certainty, particularly in emerging markets.

"By combining our advanced distributed power systems with Halliburton’s global scale and expertise, we’re well-positioned to deliver reliable and efficient energy solutions in key emerging markets," stated Nathan Ough, CEO of VoltaGrid.

This partnership builds on significant momentum for VoltaGrid in the data center sector. Just last week, the company secured a massive 2.3-gigawatt (GW) deal to supply power to cloud computing firm Oracle for its AI data centers.

Previously, in February, VoltaGrid partnered with Vantage Data Centers to deploy 1GW of off-grid natural gas generation across its North American portfolio. This followed an agreement last August to supply Elon Musk's xAI Memphis data center with 14 mobile generators, adding 35MW of power capacity.
