Google Cloud to provide AI and cloud services to Brazilian energy firm Eneva

Accenture led the migration of Eneva's infrastructure to Google Cloud

Brazilian power generation firm Eneva has partnered with Google Cloud to use its cloud, data, and AI technologies to optimize its operations across the Brazilian market.

As part of the collaboration, consulting firm Accenture migrated Eneva's infrastructure to Google Cloud to improve its access to data across the enterprise.

This includes the Google Compute Engine and Google Cloud solutions for backup and disaster recovery. According to the companies, the integration of data from cloud operations with other exploration and production data sources is playing a key role in optimizing Eneva’s asset management, maintenance, and scheduling.

In doing so, Eneva has been able to boost employee productivity by enabling maintenance operators to complete tasks in half the time currently required.

“We’re not only seeing potential in the combination of cloud, data, and AI—we’re already experiencing its transformative power across our business,” said Alexandre Ferreira, chief information officer at Eneva. “With Accenture’s deep industry expertise and the advanced capabilities of Google Cloud, we’ve formed the ideal collaboration to drive transformation across our business for years to come. This work is enabling us to serve our energy customers in Brazil with greater precision, agility, and innovation.”

Eneva has also begun to utilize Google Cloud's Gemini 2.5 and optimization tools alongside Accenture's industry knowledge to analyze data to make better-informed decisions on maintenance schedules and operations.

"We are proud to collaborate with Eneva and Accenture to help transform Brazil's energy sector through the power of data and AI,” said Victor Morales, VP, Global System Integrators Partnerships, Google Cloud. “This partnership demonstrates how our advanced cloud and AI technologies can help critical industries modernize their operations and deliver more resilient and efficient services to their customers."

Headquartered in Rio De Janeiro, Eneva is one of the largest integrated energy operators in South America. It is primarily a natural gas producer, but has also begun to develop clean energy infrastructure. According to the company, it has generation infrastructure with a combined capacity of 5.95GW, both in operation and under construction. It has recently begun to develop its renewable portfolio, operating the 837MW Futura I Solar Complex in the state of Bahia, Brazil.

Several energy companies have partnered with cloud providers to support their operations. In July, nuclear reactor developer Westinghouse, teamed up with Google Cloud to use its AI solutions for the construction of nuclear reactors.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has also partnered with several global energy companies. In June, the company partnered with renewable energy developer RWE to provide it with access to AWS’ suite of AI and cloud services.
