Hyve Managed Hosting teams up with Digital Realty, starting with data center in London, UK

Digital Realty joins Equinix and others in partnering with Hyve.

UK-based webhosting company Hyve Managed Hosting has entered a Digital Realty data center in London, the UK.

Hyve, which provides managed IT services such as private cloud, dedicated servers, and a Virtual Private Cloud that was launched in 2018, as well as colocation services, is partnering with Digital Realty to grow its data center footprint.

The company’s offerings have already been deployed in the Digital Realty LON2 data center and can now access Digital Realty’s London Metro Connect, giving it high-speed connectivity to other sites in London.

Beyond London, the partnership also gives Hyve access to Digital Realty’s global network of more than 300 data centers via the latter’s ServiceFabric interconnection solution.

While the company’s initial deployment is at the LON2 data center, the company is “exploring opportunities” for other Digital Realty locations, and is particularly interested in the US and North America, as well as APAC.

“Our partnership with Digital Realty is not just about 'more data center space;' it's an important strategic step to further diversify and strengthen our vendor ecosystem, enhance service resilience, and bolster disaster recovery capabilities for our customers' mission-critical workloads,” said Jake Madders, director and co-founder of Hyve Managed Hosting. “We are starting our partnership strong by launching a new deployment at the high-performance LON2 site, which significantly increases our capacity to support ultra-low latency, enterprise-grade applications for our customers.”

“We’re proud to support Hyve as it expands its global footprint,” added Seamus Dunne, MD at Digital Realty in the UK and Ireland.

Dunne added: “Our platform of highly interconnected data centers offers the flexibility, resilience, and proximity to markets that fast-growing providers like Hyve need to scale confidently and deliver best-in-class services to their customers worldwide, from financial institutions to technology companies and everything in between.”

Digital Realty has a total of 13 data centers in London alone. LON2 is part of its City campus and offers 1,820 sqm (19,590 sqm) of data center space.

Hyve Managed Hosting partners with several data center providers, giving it locations across the globe. The company works with operators including Equinix and Telehouse. According to its website, these partnerships give Hyve access to eight data centers in the US, two in Latin America, 20 in Europe, one in Africa, four in Asia, and three in Australia.
