Will be located in Sharjah, the UAE
UAE-based XDS Data Centres has inaugurated a 1MW immersion-cooled data center.
The colocation facility is located in Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park, a technology park in Sharjah, a city north of Dubai in the UAE.
CEO Ghufran Hamid said on LinkedIn that XDS’ strategy is to “[commission] 1MW immersion data halls to meet immediate AI demand” while the company builds 10MW facilities.
In July, XDS signed an agreement with Saudi Arabian data center operator ICS Arabia to construct one such 10MW facility. Desert Dragon Data Centers, a subsidiary of ICS, will design and construct the facility before handing it over to XDS by June 2026.
“The 1MW halls validate our thermal design, power trains, and operations under live loads, so clients can deploy today and scale on the same architecture into multi-megawatt footprints with consistent SLAs, sustainability metrics, and network fabrics," said Hamid. “Our next 1MW facility will be in Dubai and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
According to the XDS’ website, it has a presence in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
