300MW data center to be built in Uzbekistan with China’s Linkwise

Details unclear

A 300MW data center will be built in Uzbekistan with China’s Linkwise.

A Memorandum of Understanding for the facility was signed at a July 24 meeting between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy and Shanghai Linkwise Data Intelligence, a Chinese data center operator.

It will be built in the city of Bukhara, the capital of the Bukhara Region.

The construction of another 300MW data center facility, this time in the eastern province of Surxondaryo, which borders Tajikistan, was also discussed.

Specifications and development timelines were not made available.

Linkwise’s website lists it as an “enterprise data intelligence solutions provider.” Founded in 2024, it is headed by CEO Wang Xuhui, reportedly a former researcher for data labelling company Scale AI. In that same year, it raised 23 million CNY ($3.2m) from Qianyi Capital in a seed round.

The data center industry has a small footprint in Uzbekistan. It is home to Saudi Arabia’s DataVolt, which broke ground on a 10MW facility last year in May.
