Data center proposed for 850 acres of land in Stafford County, Virginia

Data center is the 16th such application made in county.

Stafford County, Virginia, will consider a data center development.

A proposal to rezone around 850 acres of land from agricultural and light industrial to heavy industrial for the ‘Forest Lane Data Center’ will be considered by the Stafford County Planning Commission at some point in time.

A separate land rezoning proposal was filed for an electrical substation.

The land parcel is located in George Washington Election District near Kings Highway and Forest Lane.

This is the 16th active data center application in the pipeline of projects to be considered by the county.

Real Estate Pursuits 2 LC is the applicant. Little is known about the company.

Despite the high concentration of data centers in Virginia, Stafford County, which is southwest of Washington, DC, is not known as a hotspot for the industry.

The county has lowered taxes for data center equipment in recent years, attracting players including Stack, which is planning a 1GW data center.
