Estimated cost of construction is $350,000
A data center is to be built in Lueders, Texas.
According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, a one-story, 280,000 sq ft (26,012 sqm) data center named ‘Data Center THM1A’ is to be constructed on Bean Road, in the city of Lueders, Jones County, Texas.
The estimated cost of construction of the facility is $350,000. Details of the future tenant were not made available, but government records show that the funds for the project were not provided by the tenant.
The scope of work states that the data center will be located at “the THM campus”, but it is unclear what is being referred to.
HDR Engineering is responsible for the construction of the facility, which started on June 18 and is estimated to finish by April 2027. The company has previously helped with CalEthos’ 300MW data center campus in Southern California.
Most of Texas’ data centers are located around its large cities, such as Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Abilene, which is the closest city to Lueders, is home to the flagship data center at the heart of OpenAI’s Stargate effort.
