Office and data center building up for sale in Pennsylvania

Former Luzerne Bank building up for grabs - could offer 13MW

An office and data center building is up for sale in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania.

Via LoopNet, Avison Young is offering 67-69 Public Square in the Luzerne County city up for sale. A listing price wasn’t included.

The 14-story tower, also known as the Luzerne Bank building, was built in 1928 and totals around 100,000 sq ft (9,290 sqm).

The listing notes the facility currently features 3MW of available power, expandable to 13MW. The property also features diverse fiber connectivity with multiple points of entry into the building.

The listing suggests the site would be “ideal for a developer seeking multifamily conversion, a tech firm looking for an abundance of fiber and power, or [an] investor leveraging Keystone Opportunity Zone tax incentives," and the available power would make the site suitable for an AI or cryptomine data center.

Currently, a mix of residential apartments, offices, and retail, around 3,500 sq ft (325 sqm) of the building is currently dedicated to data center use, according to a sales brochure.

Built for the Wilkes-Barre Deposit and Savings Bank, Luzerne Bank had been the building's anchor tenant since 2001. The bank left 67-69 Public Square last year. Bloxton Investment Group acquired the building in 2022 with plans to turn the site into a hotel.

Nebula Data Centers (which is linked to Bloxton) operates out of the building.
