DCI launches eighth data center, claims it is Indonesia's largest

Data center offers 36MW of capacity

Indonesian data center firm DCI's eighth facility is now operational.

The company claims that the 36MW JK6 is the “single largest data center ever built in Indonesia.” The facility is an expansion of DCI’s H1 Campus in Cibitung, an administrative district east of Jakarta.

This addition brings the site to five data centers, with the campus’ total capacity now 73MW. The campus will be able to offer 300MW of capacity at full buildout, accounting for 85,000 sqm (914,930 sq ft) of floor space.

The company’s remaining data centers are located in Karawang, a city located even further east of Cibitung, and South Jakarta. DCI offers a total capacity of 119MW across its facilities.

H2, located in Karawang, consists of two buildings and currently offers 27MW of capacity, but can reach up to 600MW at full buildout.

The South Jakarta facility, which is DCI’s first Edge facility, offers 18MW of capacity. Opened in December 2023, it was built in collaboration with Indonesia’s largest conglomerate Salim Group.

Founded in 2011, DCI is Indonesia’s largest data center operator. The company’s website claims a total potential power capacity of 1GW.

Indonesia is a fast-growing data center market. Cloud regions are currently operated by Microsoft and Google, while Digital Realty recently formed a joint venture with Bersama Digital Infrastructure Asia for an expansion. Most of the country’s data centers are clustered around Jakarta, which is located on the island of Java.
