CUI Zhanwei, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of China Telecom Guangdong Company, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of the first batch of projects in the start-up area of the Shaoguan Data Center Cluster, the hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
On the morning of August 1, the integrated data center project of China Telecom Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area started the construction in Zhenjiang Industrial Park, Shaoguan City.
This project is a shortlisted project of the National Integrated Data Center Demonstration Project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The relevant person in charge of China Telecom Guangdong Company pointed out that it will continue to increase the investment in technology and resources in Shaoguan City. It is estimated that by 2025, it will invest 8 billion yuan in the Shaoguan data center cluster to build more than 50,000 2.5-kilowatt standard racks.
In addition, China Telecom Guangdong will build an example of a green and low-carbon data center in the Greater Bay Area based on the climatic conditions of Shaoguan and the advantages of green electricity, so that the electricity utilization rate of the project is less than 1.25, and the network node level of the Shaoguan data center cluster will be simultaneously improved to build a national network Hub node and Tianyi Cloud national core node.
