From May 28th to 30th, the first "East Digital and Western Computing" Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Hash Industry Conference with the theme of "Computer Linking the World, Data Gathering in Shaoguan" was held in Shaoguan, Guangdong. The conference invited leaders of industry authorities, academicians and scholars in related fields, industry experts, and executives of leading enterprises to discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by the development of computing power in China, and promote the implementation of the "Eastern Data and Western Computing" project.

At the conference, Chen Yandan, vice president of GDS, was interviewed by China IDC Quan, she said, "East Data West Computing" is the core national strategy, and its core idea is to coordinate energy and computing power to achieve a relatively balanced state. "East Data West Computing" requires the integration of network technology and energy reform, diverting some businesses in the east to reasonable areas in the west, and gradually adjusting China's computing power structure to an organic combination of computing and storage in the east and the west. “‘East Data West Computing’ is a huge project that requires years of planning, step-by-step implementation, and gradual iterative optimization. According to the interpretation and calculation of the policy by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the total proportion of eastern data centers will drop from 60% to 50%, while the proportion of western data centers will increase from the current 10% to 25% .
