Inspur Collaborating with Intel to Acclerate AI Innovation

On November 13th at SC18, the international conference for high performance computing, Inspur announced a collaboration with Intel to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) performance and ease solution integration. The companies will expand their joint innovation lab to include a new focus on AI, and will work together to promote the global development of AI through a multi-faceted collaboration in areas including hardware innovation, software optimization and ecosystem building.

The expansion of the Inspur and Intel joint innovation lab to include AI will bring together engineering and R&D teams from both companies to focus on AI algorithms and applications, including optimization of AI software for Intel’s next-generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors (code-named “Cascade Lake”), which feature Intel® Deep Learning Boost technology, as well as Intel® FPGAs, which deliver flexible workload acceleration. To meet customers’ evolving AI needs and continue to provide more powerful and flexible AI solutions, Inspur will incorporate future Intel AI hardware and software into the innovation lab as they become available.

“Currently, the trends of AI industrialization are becoming more and more prevalent. AI computing determines the speed of AI innovation. Our collaboration with Intel will, via AI computing product innovation and talent training, inject the vitality of continuous innovation into global AI R&D institutions and commercial companies to promote the improvement and development of industrial AI,” said Liu Jun, GM of AI & HPC, Inspur.

“Given the increasing impact of artificial intelligence on our society, Intel is committed to making AI accessible and easier to deploy globally. The future of AI relies on having a robust ecosystem of silicon, software and systems, and our collaboration with Inspur represents our shared commitment to providing customers with high-performance AI solutions that are easy to deploy and use,” said Trish Damkroger, Vice President and General Manager, Intel’s Data Center Group.

As a leading global AI computing provider, Inspur has been fully engaged in the development of AI infrastructures in four layers, including a comprehensive computing platform, a complete management & performance suite, optimized deep learning frameworks, and end-to-end, agile, cost-efficient AI solutions for its industry customers.
