Delska Inaugurates 10MW Data Center in Riga, Bolstering Baltic Digital Infrastructure

Baltic data center operator Delska has officially launched a new 10-megawatt facility in Riga, marking a significant expansion of digital infrastructure in Latvia and the wider Baltic region. The launch underscores the growing strategic importance of the Baltics as a connectivity and data hub between Europe and the Nordics, attracting investment to support increasing demand for cloud, AI, and enterprise IT services.
The newly operational site, named EU North Riga LV DC1, is a 7,100-square-meter (76,425-square-foot) facility capable of supporting high-density deployments of up to 250kW per rack. Delska has designed the site with future growth in mind, noting it is expandable to a total capacity of 30MW. The project, first announced in May 2022, reached its structural completion in November 2024 and has now commenced commercial operations.
Speaking at the inauguration, Daiga Mierina, Speaker of the Parliament of Latvia, highlighted the project's national significance: "Two years ago, I had the honor of attending the topping-out ceremony of the new Delska data center and today marks the beginning of a new chapter in Latvia's IT sector. I am confident that EU North Riga LV DC1 will become a significant milestone in Latvia's digital development, proving our ability not only to follow global trends but also to actively shape them." The facility's power consumption is offset by renewable energy, with its backup generators utilizing renewable diesel supplied by Neste.
The launch solidifies Delska's position as a key regional player. Formed from the 2024 merger of DEAC and Data Logistics Center—both historically part of the Baltic Rezo group—Delska is backed by the Swiss Quaero European Infrastructure Fund II. The operator now runs a portfolio of six data centers across Riga and Vilnius, with a combined capacity of 19MW. The new Riga facility represents a major step in scaling its footprint to meet the evolving needs of international and local enterprises seeking resilient, sustainable, and high-capacity digital infrastructure in Northern Europe.
