Veolia Unveils Integrated Platform Targeting Carbon-Neutral Data Centers

Veolia Launches Carbon-Neutral Data Center Platform

April 15, 2026

French environmental services giant Veolia has launched a new integrated platform aimed at transforming data centers into sustainable infrastructure hubs. The move comes as the rapidly expanding digital economy faces intense scrutiny over its energy and water consumption, making operational efficiency and environmental responsibility critical for future growth.

The platform is designed to provide a holistic solution for data center operators, targeting significant improvements across key sustainability metrics. Veolia claims its offering can enable facilities to achieve up to 20 percent more energy reuse, reduce their water footprint by 75 percent, and recycle or reuse 95 percent of waste, ultimately supporting a path toward carbon-neutral and water-positive operations.

Initially, Veolia will focus its efforts on major data center markets in the United States and Europe, specifically naming Germany, the United Kingdom, and France as priority regions. The company has set an ambitious target to generate more than €1 billion (approximately $1.17 billion) in annual revenue from the combined data center and microelectronics sector.

In a statement, Veolia CEO Estelle Brachlianoff positioned the launch at the intersection of digital expansion and ecological necessity. "This next-generation offering is designed to support the growth of the strategic digital infrastructure that shapes today’s world," Brachlianoff said. "We are proud to be the first and only company delivering a truly global, integrated, and circular solution for data centers." She emphasized that in an era where environmental security is a geostrategic issue, helping operators make data centers more resource-efficient and resilient is essential to turning them "into true allies of local communities."

The company asserts its unique position stems from its global footprint and expertise in water, waste, and energy services, operating in over 50 countries. Veolia also highlighted its established client portfolio, which includes industry leaders like TSMC, Intel, AWS, and Tesla, as a foundation for effectively scaling its new solutions across diverse markets. This initiative follows recent reports of Veolia's involvement, alongside SDC Capital Partners, in backing a proposed 300-megawatt data center campus in Buckinghamshire, underscoring its deepening commitment to the sector.

The launch signals a significant push by a major infrastructure player to capitalize on the data center industry's urgent sustainability needs. By offering a bundled solution for energy, water, and waste, Veolia is positioning itself as a key partner for operators under pressure to reduce environmental impact while ensuring operational resilience and community integration.
