Princeton Digital Group Breaks Ground on 120MW Data Center Campus in Mumbai
April 10, 2026
Princeton Digital Group (PDG), a major Asia-Pacific data center operator, has commenced construction on a significant new campus in India's financial capital, marking a key expansion in one of the world's fastest-growing digital markets. The move underscores the intense demand for cloud and AI infrastructure in the region.
The company announced this week that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for its MU2 campus in Navi Mumbai. The new facility, situated on a 10-acre land parcel acquired in March, will be a five-story structure offering 120 megawatts of IT capacity across approximately 18,880 square meters of colocation space. This development significantly bolsters PDG's footprint in India, where it already operates the MU1 campus in Airoli, Navi Mumbai.
PDG's existing MU1 campus, announced in 2021, currently has two live buildings with a combined 50MW of capacity. The company is concurrently building out a 100MW expansion at that site. Beyond Mumbai, PDG is advancing its Indian portfolio with a planned 72MW campus in Chennai and has secured land for a 90MW campus in Hyderabad, reflecting a multi-city strategy to capture nationwide demand.
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Singapore, PDG is backed by prominent investors including its largest shareholder, Warburg Pincus, as well as the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Mubadala, and Stonepeak. This financial backing supports its aggressive expansion across key Asian markets like Japan, Indonesia, China, and South Korea.
The launch of the 120MW MU2 campus highlights the strategic importance of Mumbai as a critical connectivity and commercial hub. It positions PDG to serve hyperscalers and enterprises seeking scalable capacity in a market where demand continues to outpace supply, driven by digital transformation, data localization policies, and the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence technologies.
