Serverfarm Reaches Construction Milestone on Major 60MW Houston Data Center
February 9, 2026
The expansion of data center capacity in key US markets remains a critical priority for the industry, driven by relentless demand from cloud computing and artificial intelligence workloads. Texas, with its favorable business climate and growing tech ecosystem, has emerged as a focal point for this infrastructure build-out. Serverfarm, a US data center operator owned by Manulife Investment Management, has announced the topping out of its new CTX2 facility in Houston, Texas. The company confirmed the structural completion of the building over the weekend. This 60-megawatt (MW) project represents a significant expansion of Serverfarm's HOU2 campus located at 15555 Cutten Road. The new building spans 438,000 square feet (approximately 40,691 square meters) and is situated adjacent to Serverfarm's existing data centers on the campus, which were acquired from HP and later DXC in 2024. Upon full completion, the entire HOU2 campus will encompass nearly 500,000 square feet of space across two buildings, with the secured customer capacity to scale to 100MW utilizing available grid power. Serverfarm, founded in 2009 and acquired by Manulife in 2023, operates a global portfolio of ten data centers, with seven located in the United States and three in Amsterdam, London, and Israel. This latest development in Houston underscores the firm's strategic growth within the competitive North American data center landscape. The addition of 60MW of critical IT capacity will bolster the region's digital infrastructure, catering to enterprises and hyperscale customers seeking scalable and reliable colocation solutions in a major economic hub.
