Hohhot Forges Ahead as Green Computing Power Hub with Landmark 2025 Conference

Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China – July 12, 2025 – The 2025 Green Computing Power (AI) Conference successfully concluded today in Hohhot, marking significant strides in China's green computing and artificial intelligence landscape. The event, held on July 12, 2025, brought together over 500 prominent leaders from government, academia, and industry, solidifying Hohhot's position as a national leader in green computing.

The conference was jointly hosted by the Hohhot Municipal Government, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), the Horinger New Area Management Committee, and the Hohhot Big Data Bureau. Attendees included representatives from key national organizations and leading technology enterprises such as the National Data Administration, Tsinghua University, Huawei, ByteDance, Baidu, and Lenovo, alongside over 30 core computing power enterprises.

Key Outcomes Driving Innovation and Growth

The conference achieved several pivotal outcomes, demonstrating a concerted effort to advance green computing infrastructure and policy:

  • Infrastructure Milestone: A major highlight was the activation of five key projects, including the Huawei Cloud Center and the ABC Data Center. These initiatives have dramatically boosted Hohhot's total computing power to an impressive 101,000 P, with 95% of this capacity being intelligent computing power.

  • Policy Leadership: Hohhot reinforced its commitment to sustainable development by releasing China's first Green Computing Power Development Report during the conference. This groundbreaking report was accompanied by supportive municipal policies designed to foster the growth of green computing.

  • Ecosystem Expansion: The conference also saw significant expansion of the computing ecosystem through:

    • The launch of four cutting-edge laboratories, focusing on areas such as Quantum Computing and Liquid-Cooling R&D.

    • The signing of 10 strategic projects with leading companies like Baidu and Lenovo, representing a substantial investment of 20 billion RMB.

Strategic Impact: Cementing Hohhot's Leadership

These achievements have strategically positioned the Horinger Cluster as China's number one Green Computing Hub for 2024-2025. This leading status is a result of several key initiatives:

  • Its designation as a national computing-electricity pilot.

  • The establishment of a thriving financial data industrial park, which has attracted a cluster of seven major banks.

  • Its crucial role as a "East Data West Computing" node, enhancing national data flow and processing capabilities.

The 2025 Green Computing Power Conference not only showcased Hohhot's current capabilities but also laid a robust foundation for its continued leadership in the green computing and AI sectors.
