Telkom Indonesia partners with Huawei for cloud technology and data centers

December 20, 2023, /Indonesia Business Post/ - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk has joined forces with Huawei Indonesia to provide cloud technology and data center services. This collaboration is part of Telkom’s strategy to enhance its capabilities in the IT services business.

MoU was signed by Budi Setyawan Wijaya, Telkom’s Director of Strategic Portfolio, and Steven Wang, CEO of the Carrier Network Business Group at Huawei Indonesia. The signing ceremony took place at Telkom Landmark Tower in Jakarta.

Telkom aims to work together with Huawei to offer digital cloud services, particularly targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM), entrepreneurs, and government agencies, according to Budi’s statement on December 19, 2023.

Under this partnership, Telkom and Huawei will explore cutting-edge technologies in digital services, data centers, and cloud computing. The goal is to strengthen capabilities and boost corporate revenue. The collaboration is expected to generate new revenue streams, especially for Telkom’s segments such as UMKM, the government, and conglomerates.

Another aspect of the collaboration is to expedite the development of TelkomGroup’s expertise through joint training and certification programs, focusing on digital skills and innovation.

Huawei Indonesia’s Guo Hailong, CEO, expressed appreciation for Telkom’s commitment to this collaboration. Both companies pledge to contribute to digital transformation in Indonesia.

“We will continue to enhance the development of digital infrastructure to build the world’s leading smart cloud network,” Guo Hailong stated.

The signing ceremony was attended by Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, Telkom’s Director of Digital Business; Jennifer Zhan, Huawei’s CTO of XToB Business; Benson Qin, Huawei Cloud APAC Director, and James Zhang, Huawei Cloud Indonesia’s CEO.
