ACS to develop 50MW data center in Madrid, Spain

November 16, 2023 - Spanish construction firm ACS Group is to build a data center in Madrid.

The company this week announced it had acquired a 6.7-hectare parcel of land in the Alcalá de Henares area of the capital.

ACS said the site has a 50MW supply of energy, and the data center will begin operations in 2025.

The land acquisition was done through ACS subsidiary Iridium Infrastructure from Acarno Partners.

ACS was founded in 1997 through the merger of OCP Construcciones, S.A. and Ginés Navarro Construcciones, S.A. The company has developed a large number of data centers in the US through its subsidiary Turner, as well as CIMIC Group in Australia and Asia-Pacific.

CIMIC was recently awarded a contract to build a data center in Quezon City, the Philippines, for STT GDC. Hochtief, its German subsidiary, is building a data center for European operator Data4 in consortium with the local company Adamietz Warszawa.
