Atlancis and EverseTech Launch Kenya's First Sovereign AI Cloud Platform

In a significant move for Africa's digital infrastructure landscape, technology firms Atlancis Technologies Ltd. and Everse Technology (EverseTech) have jointly launched Servernah Cloud, Kenya's first sovereign-hosted cloud and artificial intelligence platform. The initiative marks a pivotal step towards enabling African organizations to process and govern their data within national borders, addressing growing concerns over data sovereignty and latency.
The new platform, now operational, integrates Atlancis's Servernah cloud infrastructure with EverseTech's AI-as-a-Service capabilities. It is physically hosted within the iXAfrica data center facility located on Mombasa Road in Nairobi. This strategic deployment is designed to allow local enterprises and government entities to run sensitive AI and high-performance computing workloads domestically, keeping data closer to its source.
The hosting facility itself is part of a rapidly expanding digital hub. In September 2025, iXAfrica secured funding to increase the data center's total capacity to 22.5 megawatts. Furthermore, the site is slated to host Oracle's upcoming Kenyan cloud region, underscoring its growing importance.
Industry leaders hailed the launch as a milestone. “This deployment is a defining moment in Africa’s AI infrastructure story,” said Snehar Shah, CEO of iXAfrica Data Centres. “It shows that the foundation for Africa’s intelligent future is being built here, and it is now live for the market.”
Paul Statham, commercial director at Atlancis, emphasized the broader mission, stating, “The journey to digital sovereignty requires massive investments in people, hardware, and software infrastructure. We have built Servernah Cloud as Africa’s sovereign cloud that is resilient, secure, and scalable to meet Africa’s growing needs.”
The launch of a sovereign AI cloud in Kenya is expected to accelerate local AI adoption, reduce reliance on foreign data infrastructure, and potentially set a benchmark for other nations on the continent seeking greater control over their digital ecosystems. It signals Kenya's emerging role as a focal point for partnerships and infrastructure investment aimed at capturing the next wave of technological growth.
