UtilityInnovation Group udnævner Jon Rodriguez til President of Energy Centers for at fremme strømforsyningsløsninger til datacentre

RALEIGH, N.C., October 3, 2025 /Rhevenwire/ - UtilityInnovation Group today announced the appointment of Jon Rodriguez as leader of the Energy Centers in a newly created role focused on developing next-generation power supply solutions and supporting the expansion of the booming data center market in North America and Europe.

The global proliferation of artificial intelligence and the surge in high-performance computing demands are transforming the power requirements of data centers. UIC's Energy Centers are designed to meet this challenge posed by the AI boom and to more closely integrate data centers with the energy system by optimizing cost, reliability, resilience, and integration with the electrical grid. Rodriguez will lead UIC's implementation of data center site strategies and solidify UIC's leadership in this key growth segment of the energy sector.

As head of the Energy Centers, Rodriguez will leverage his extensive experience and project expertise in the data center and energy sectors to lead UIC's strategy. A core part of UIC's next-generation power supply solutions are their Energy Storage as a Regulatory Asset and Grid Enhancing Technologies programs. The Energy Centers will provide scalable capacity, reduce grid congestion, optimize energy procurement, and accelerate power supply for data center campuses through advanced grid integration technologies. By deploying these technologies at scale, UIC's Energy Centers are changing how data centers, utilities, and communities collaborate to deliver critical power infrastructure for the age of AI.

Rodriguez brings over two decades of experience in the siting, design, consulting, and operation of large-scale infrastructure. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Siting & Business Development at Community Energy. He has extensive experience procuring renewable energy for utility companies and data centers; his background also includes significant experience developing solutions for high-stakes projects in the industrial, retail, and data center sectors, covering site selection, energy procurement, capital recovery, and regulatory frameworks.

Rodriguez holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

"Serving as President of Energy Centers for UIC is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with all stakeholders in the data center ecosystem to realize the promise of Energy Centers and deliver practical, implementable solutions that provide scale, reliability, and flexibility," said Rodriguez. "The development of Energy Centers, which optimize costs and ensure installed capacity is available, is crucial for the data center industry's growth, and I am thrilled to build upon UIC's established framework and expertise in the energy market."

"Jon's experience commercializing infrastructure at scale is invaluable for UIC's position in the global market for energy centers," said Derrick Tugwell, Director and Co-founder of UIC. "His leadership and expertise will be key drivers for continued large-scale innovation and for meeting the evolving needs of data centers, utility companies, and other major energy consumers. We are excited to welcome his capabilities to our team."
