Chunghwa August Revenue Hits Nine-Year High, Driven by 5G Growth & Data Center Demand

Chunghwa Telecom announced its unaudited consolidated operating results for August 2025. Its unaudited consolidated revenue was NT$ 18.56 billion. Operating income was NT$ 4.11 billion, and income before tax was NT$ 4.07 billion.

Net income attributable to stockholders of the parent company was NT$3.16 billion and EBITDA reached NT$ 7.44 billion, while EPS was NT$0.40.

Chunghwa Telecom highlighted that its total revenue in August reached a nine-year high for the same period, mainly driven by its robust growth of core businesses. Both its fixed broadband and mobile service revenues increased over 3% on year-over-year basis.

In August, thanks to the 5G speed upgrade plans, Chunghwa’s mobile postpaid subscriber number grew by 1.3% year-over-year to 9.97 million, while postpaid ARPU rose by 2.5% to NT$566. Meanwhile, the summer travel season significantly boosted demand for prepaid cards and international roaming services. Together, these drivers resulted in a nearly 4.0% increase in mobile service revenue. As for fixed broadband services, the successful symmetric speed upgrade campaign and the offering of 1Gbps service led to sustained double-digit growth in subscribers with speeds of 300Mbps and above. This drove the fixed broadband ARPU to go up by 2.9% to NT$808 and resulted in a 3.1% year-over-year increase in fixed broadband service revenue.

In addition, the overall ICT revenue demonstrated a positive result, mainly contributed from the increased IDC and cloud revenues. Due to the continued growth of data center construction projects and the strong demand for co-location services, IDC and cloud service revenues in August rose by 24% year-over-year.

It’s worthy to note that our subsidiary, CHT Security officially listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange on September 8, marking the nation’s first publicly listed cybersecurity service company and setting a new benchmark for the industry. With the company’s record-high revenue and profitability for the first half of 2025, while its recurring revenue accounted for more than 50% of its total revenue, Chunghwa Telecom was glad to see CHT Security continued to positively contribute to Group’s performance.
