The project is in addition to the more than twenty installations the company has made for Claro
Argentine modular data center manufacturer Datawaves has completed the assembly of a facility for telecommunications company Claro in Buenos Aires, according to DPL News.
Datawaves transported and assembled ten prefabricated modules for Claro in August, the company said in a recent social media post.
Once completed, the data center will house 66 racks and will have a power room equipped with UPS, batteries, and other hardware. It will also have eight levels of metal cable trays and fiber runner trays, which Datawaves is also supplying and installing.
The modular company is working with data center engineering consultancy Micrico to manage the project.
Claro announced plans to build a modular data center in the Argentine capital in August 2024, backed by a US$30 million investment. DPL News reported last year that the data center will have Tier III design certification.
The data center on Brazil Street was then expected to be about 1,300 square meters (13,995 sq ft). The project is expected to be completed in 2026.
"This milestone demonstrates Claro's commitment to continue providing quality services to our users with the highest standards in sustainability," Julio Porras Zadik, CEO of Claro Argentina, said at the time.
Datawaves has built more than 25 modular data centers for Claro, including in Paraguay and Argentina.
