Call center company exits and puts building and contents up for sale
A former US Air Force data center, used as a call center until recently, is up for sale in Michigan.
Via LoopNet, Heritage House Realty Oscoda/AuSable is listing 6080 Jet Street in Oscoda for sale. The listing price is $799,000.
Sitting on 3.6 acres in Iosco County’s Wurtsmith Industrial District, the single-story facility spans 13,100 sq ft (1,215 sqm).
Built in 1963, the facility was originally a data center supporting Wurtsmith Air Force Base prior to its closure in 1993. The building was most recently used as a data center and call center.
It features a 450kW backup generator in a small outbuilding, as well as a standalone Liebert system in the data center area with a backup rooftop unit for additional environmental control and redundancy.
“With its history as a military-grade facility and extensive upgrades, this property is ideal for secure operations, administrative services, technology centers, or specialized industrial uses,” the listing notes. “The building is a slab, with the raised floor in the rear office and maintenance room.”
The facility was previously occupied by Crusecom Technology, a call center firm. The company has operated in Oscoda since around 2002. Crusecom is exiting the building and has put most of its contents up for sale.
“After 30 years in business, we are downsizing our operations and making available a wide range of high-quality equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for organizations or professionals seeking reliable equipment at competitive value,” the company posted on Facebook last month. Items for sale included servers, network switches, routers, cabling, and various pieces of office furniture and supplies.
Wurtsmith Air Force Base was a US Air Force base commissioned in 1923. Decommissioned in 1993, parts of the site now serve as the Oscoda–Wurtsmith Airport.
