LS Electric secures $46m contract to supply power distribution equipment to hyperscale AI data center in US

Deliveries set to commence in February 2026

Korean electric equipment manufacturer LS Electric has secured a $46 million contract to supply power distribution solutions to a hyperscale artificial intelligence data center project in the US.

The exact project was not disclosed; however, LS Electric said that it was with a “global big tech firm.”

LS Electric intends to deliver the equipment in phases, which will include power distribution products for gas-powered generation units within a microgrid system.

The deliveries are set to commence in February 2026 and will occur over a six-month period. DCD has contacted LS Electric for further details.

“The end client is a major big tech firm, but we are unable to disclose its name due to the nondisclosure agreement,” an LS Electric official said. “Being selected as the power infrastructure supplier for such a huge AI data center project proves our technological credibility in the global market.”

LS Electric is a subsidiary of the larger South Korean conglomerate LS Group. It has signed numerous deals with data center companies over recent years to supply power and electrical equipment. The company is the most significant player within South Korea’s commercial data center power infrastructure market, holding a 60 percent share.

In July, the firm partnered with Naver Cloud to integrate artificial intelligence into its power systems and data center operations.

In addition, late last year, the company signed an MoU with the Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Corporation to explore the development of AI data centers powered by SMR technology.
