Amazon helps students across data center communities prepare for back-to-school success

As students prepare to return to classrooms this fall, Amazon partners with local organizations in communities where it operates data centers to ensure children start the school year with the supplies and resources they need to succeed.

In South Bend, Indiana, La Casa de Amistad's annual "Ready, Set, School!" event brought the community together in a celebration of education. Presented by Amazon, the event welcomed families to La Casa's location where the first 1,000 students received clear backpacks and selected their own school supplies.

"La Casa has always been a place where our Latino and immigrant families can feel welcomed, supported, and celebrated," said Juan Constantino, executive officer, La Casa de Amistad. "We know education is the main path to success and opportunity and we're thrilled to start the year together on a positive note."

Beyond school supplies, "Ready, Set, School!" offered free meals, activities, music, raffles, and a resource fair featuring community partners, including the St. Joseph County Health Department providing immunizations.

"La Casa de Amistad is incredibly grateful to our partners at Amazon for their generous sponsorship," Constantino added. "With their help, we provided thousands of supplies to local students."

In Columbus, Ohio, Amazon joined NBC4 as a sponsor of its "Stuff the Backpack" initiative, helping purchase backpacks and school supplies for students across 15 districts in central Ohio.

In Woodbridge, Virginia, Amazon supported the Prince William County Community Foundation's annual back-to-school community event, which distributed more than 3,500 backpacks, school supplies and resources to increase school readiness throughout the region.

In Hermiston, Oregon, Amazon also supported Agape House with a community donation and backpacks for local students, ensuring rural communities receive much-needed educational resources. These initiatives helped turn "supply lists" into "success lists" for thousands of students ready to write their stories for the new school year.
