IJM scores US$ 330 million Johor data center job, its biggest

IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of IJM Corporation Berhad (IJM) has scored a RM1.4 billion (US$ 330 million) contract for the construction of a hyperscale data centre, its largest data center project and its fourth in Johor, Malaysia, the company said in a statement recently. Spanning 62,000 square metres, the project consists of a six‑storey data centre building with integrated refuse and recycling, as well as irrigation facilities.

Designed to achieve LEED Gold and GreenRE Platinum certifications, the company, which will undertake civil and structural works, expects to deliver the project in September 2026.

“This project win demonstrates IJM Construction’s ability to deliver complex, high‑specification facilities on accelerated schedules. By applying our core strengths in structural delivery and execution, we are able to meet the demands of today’s hyperscale data centre market for speed, quality and scalability. We are also seeing stronger emphasis on environmental performance, with certifications and green features becoming standard in data centre design. Our role is to ensure these evolving requirements are met with reliability and precision,” said IJM Group CEO & Managing Director, Dato’ Lee Chun Fai.

IJM is one of Malaysia’s leading conglomerates.
