Soluna secures 30MW crypto hosting deal in Texas

Soluna fills Dorothy 2 capacity with large agreement from unnamed Bitcoin miner.

Soluna, the crypto and AI data center firm, has announced it has filled the rack capacity at its Dorothy 2 site in Texas after it secured a 30MW contract from what it describes as a “top-tier” Bitcoin miner.

This latest deal marks the third time the same customer has expanded its capacity at the Dorothy 2 site, which has now maxed out its overall 48MW load.

The customer’s expansion represents an additional 1,462.03 PHps of hashrate. Electricity and overhead costs aside, this level of hashrate equates to 0.79074121 BTC per day. In dollar value, this amounts to a daily mining return of $93,578.84.

“This milestone marks the full ramp of Dorothy 2’s sustainable hosting capacity—and another strong vote of confidence from one of our longest-standing customers,” said John Belizaire, CEO of Soluna.

Belizaire noted that the ongoing demand for Bitcoin mining, as represented by this latest deal, is indicative of strong demand for Bitcoin mining services even in light of last year’s Bitcoin halving event. This refers to the halving of block rewards, which makes it twice as hard to acquire Bitcoin from mining since fewer coins get released to successful miners.

“It’s a major milestone in our growth pipeline, bringing 100 percent of our active facilities to full capacity. It also underscores the rising demand for efficient, renewable-powered infrastructure in the post-halving era,” added Belizaire.

According to Soluna, this marks the third time the unnamed customer has expanded its contracted capacity with Soluna, having first deployed mining rigs at Soluna’s Project Sophie in 2023.

Project Sophie is a 25MW site located in Kentucky. In addition to Dorothy 2, Soluna also operates the 187MW Project Rosa site in Texas; the 50MW Dorothy I A and B, as well as the 2MW Grace site in Texas. The company is also developing a 166MW AI and crypto data center known as Project Kati, again, in Texas.

Project Dorothy 2 is co-located with a 150MW wind farm. The first phase of the site’s three-phase ramp-up came online in Q2 of 2025, and is expected to reach full energization by the end of this year.
