International digital infrastructure major, NTT Global Data Centers has reportedly acquired 2.39 acres of land from veteran Bollywood actor Jeetendra Kapoor for ₹855 crore (~US$ 99 million). The land is located in Andheri in Mumbai’s western suburbs, and currently houses the Balaji IT Park comprising three buildings.
This is a strategic location, given its connectivity to key highways, metro lines and major arterial roads. It is already a hub of office spaces, including co-working facilities, luxury retail outlets as well as upscale residential developments. It is also not far from NTT’s existing data centers in the city.
CNBC cited information and documents from Square Yards, a property tech firm, and reported that the sale includes two contiguous land parcels totaling 9,664.68 square meters (~ 2.39 acres). These documents accessed through the official website of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Maharashtra, show that the buyer as NTT Global Data Centres & Cloud Infrastructure India Private Limited, formerly known as Netmagic IT Services Private Limited.
NTT Global Data Centers has been operating in India for around 20 years, offering managed hosting and multi-cloud hybrid IT solutions. It has data centers across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi NCR. Currently it has seven data centers in Mumbai, including one in Navi Mumbai, and one at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
NTT Global Data Centers has continuously accelerated its global footprint over the past year, including opening 10 new data centers across North America, EMEA, and APAC and adding more than 370MW of new IT capacity. Readers would recall that recently, NTT DATA announced the accelerated expansion of its Global Data Centers division, securing land across North America, Europe, and Asia over the past six months to support nearly a gigawatt of planned data center capacity. This growth is part of NTT DATA’s previously announced $10 billion investment aimed at expanding the business through 2027.
The sale of the land in Andheri was completed in May 2025, and was conducted through two firms owned by the veteran actor’s family. However, neither NTT, nor the Kapoor family have made any statements about the transaction. While Kapoor himself retired after working in over 200 movies, his daughter Ekta is a renowned movie and TV producer, best known for opulent family dramas, and his son Tusshar is also an actor.
