Would be company’s first data center in the state
Indian data center operator ESDS will invest Rs 600 crore ($70 million) in a data center in Raipur.
Raipur is the capital city of Chhattisgarh, a central Indian state./This would be ESDS’s first data center in the state, which does not currently have an operational colocation data center. RackBank recently broke ground on a campus in Nava Raipur, a city east of Raipur.
ESDS chairman Piyush Somani and vice president Lokesh Sharma met with the chief minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai.
Details about the size, exact location, capacity, and development timeline were not shared.
Sai said on the social media platform X that the data center would be optimized for AI usage.
ESDS currently operates 60,000 sq ft (5,576 sqm) of data centers split across four facilities: one in the northwestern state of Punjab, two in the western state of Rajasthan, and one in Maharashtra, which contains Mumbai.
