‘Project Bunkhouse’ moves ahead
A proposed data center outside Atlanta, Georgia, has gained the initial green light from planning officials.
Bartow Planning Commission has recommended approval for a data center rezoning request for an 876-acre land parcel in Stilesboro to be rezoned from residential to industrial.
Set in an unincorporated community in Bartow County, northwest of Atlanta, the parcel is located on both sides of Taff Road, bounded by Floyd Creek Church Road on the west, Raccoon Creek on the right, and is slightly below Highway 113.
A Development of Regional Impact application filed with the Georgia Department of State Affairs in March 2025 showed that the campus will be called Project Bunkhouse.
No additional information could be found about the applicant, Taurus DC SPE LLC. The end user is also unknown.
The land is currently owned by Gaines Family Land LLC, and the rezoning recommendation will have to be approved by the Bartow County Commissioners.
Traditionally, Atlanta’s data centers are located around Fulton County, but growing demand has pushed projects into Bartow County. Atlas Development and Switch are also planning facilities in the county.
