Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, has announced the successful deployment of a modular data center infrastructure solution for one of Romania's leading telecommunications providers, working in partnership with local integrator Tema Energy. The project establishes a standardized, scalable architecture designed to support phased capacity growth across multiple sites while maintaining operational continuity.
The telecommunications provider operates mission-critical data centers that underpin nationwide mobile, fixed, and digital services. As network demand continued to rise, the operator required a standardized, repeatable data center architecture that could be deployed across multiple locations, expanded incrementally over time, and adapted to evolving capacity requirements without disrupting operations or necessitating major infrastructure redesign.
To address these challenges, Vertiv deployed a standardized modular architecture engineered to support high availability, operational efficiency, and phased expansion. The solution encompasses scalable power infrastructure capable of supporting capacity growth without major redesign, intelligent power distribution and monitoring systems to improve operational visibility, integrated thermal management for efficient and reliable operations, and modular uninterruptible power supply systems designed to uphold high availability and business continuity. Standardized deployment models were also implemented to simplify expansion across locations.

As a result of the deployment, the telecommunications provider now benefits from a standardized and scalable data center environment that supports future expansion with reduced disruption. The integration of Vertiv containment with row-based cooling and, where deployed, free-cooling chiller technology helps stabilize operating temperatures and supports energy-efficient operations. The modular power train further improves deployment flexibility and enhances visibility into power usage at both the rack and room levels.
Beyond design and implementation, Vertiv continues to support the customer's long-term performance and uptime through ongoing service and maintenance, delivered by local authorized service partners since 2020. The project underscores a growing trend among telecommunications operators to adopt modular, standardized infrastructure models that balance scalability with operational resilience—an approach increasingly relevant as data center capacity demands accelerate across Europe.
