Redaptive, a Denver-based energy solutions company, and Recurve, a platform specializing in demand flexibility measurement and optimization, have announced a joint offering designed to help data center operators secure faster access to electricity. The solution targets both energy performance improvements within data center facilities and the creation of additional capacity on the surrounding local grid, in coordination with utilities and community stakeholders.
The partnership arrives at a critical moment for the AI economy, as surging electricity demand from data centers has become one of the most significant constraints on industry growth. According to a recent report by the International Energy Agency (IEA), electricity consumption from data centers rose by 17% in 2025. Across the United States, utilities are confronting requests for power that far exceed what existing infrastructure can promptly deliver. While new substations, transmission lines, and other grid upgrades remain essential, such projects often require years to complete.
By focusing on optimizing existing assets rather than waiting for new infrastructure, the Redaptive-Recurve solution offers a faster and more cost-effective path to unlocking power capacity. The approach aims to ease pressure on local grids while helping data center operators reduce delays to AI-driven expansion. Together, the companies offer data center operators a proven methodology to unlock additional power without relying solely on traditional, long-cycle grid upgrades. Inside data centers, the solution includes cooling optimization, high-efficiency HVAC upgrades, advanced battery storage integration for peak shaving, and energy management systems for real-time performance monitoring. Across the surrounding grid, Redaptive deploys portfolios of energy assets at commercial and industrial sites, including large-scale efficiency retrofits, distributed generation such as solar and combined heat and power, and demand response resources that can be dispatched during peak load.
Recurve's FLEX platform translates these investments into measurable, auditable outcomes that utilities can trust and integrate into their capacity planning. The platform currently supports more than 55 million utility meters across North America.
