Oracle Partners with Quantinuum to Deploy Helios Quantum Computer on OCI

Quantinuum has entered into a multi-year partnership with Oracle to deploy its Helios quantum computer on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), marking the first quantum system ever hosted by the cloud provider. The collaboration will give enterprise customers direct access to the machine through OCI's forthcoming quantum service, which is expected to offer "managed, secure access" to cloud-hosted quantum computing.

The deployment represents a significant step for Oracle, which has not previously operated a quantum computer in its cloud environment. By running Helios on-premises within OCI's infrastructure, the system will integrate with existing OCI compute, networking, storage, identity, and data services, allowing customers to apply the same governance and access controls they already use, according to a statement from Quantinuum.

Oracle's OCI quantum service is designed to combine Quantinuum's development stack with support for open-source hybrid-programming frameworks. This approach is intended to help developers build, test, and refine quantum-classical applications more efficiently. The service is slated for preview "in the coming months," though no specific timeline has been disclosed.

"We believe the next phase of enterprise computing will be shaped by bringing quantum, AI, and high-performance computing together," said Dr. Rajeeb Hazra, president and CEO of Quantinuum. "Deploying Helios inside OCI gives Quantinuum and Oracle an opportunity to create a unique deeply integrated environment for hybrid workloads, explore enterprise use cases with customers, and accelerate commercial adoption."

Mahesh Thiagarajan, executive vice president of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, added: "AI has changed what organizations can imagine, and we believe quantum computing can expand what they're able to solve. By bringing Quantinuum's Helios to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, we want to give developers a practical and secure way to explore how quantum computing could complement their existing AI and HPC workloads on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure while improving compute efficiency and energy use."

The partnership underscores a broader industry push to make quantum computing commercially accessible through major cloud platforms. Quantinuum, founded in 2021 after Honeywell spun out its Quantum Solutions division and merged it with UK-based Cambridge Quantum Computing, has emerged as a key player in the sector. Honeywell retains a 54 percent stake in the company, with IBM also holding an investment.

Helios, launched in November 2025, is a general-purpose quantum computer designed to let developers program quantum and heterogeneous classical computers in a unified manner, enabling hybrid quantum capabilities within a single program. The company went public on Nasdaq in June 2026, debuting at $68 per share and reaching a market capitalization of more than $15.7 billion.

The integration of Helios into OCI could accelerate the adoption of hybrid quantum-classical workloads in enterprise environments, particularly as organizations seek to pair quantum computing with AI and HPC for complex problem-solving. By embedding quantum resources directly into a major hyperscale cloud, Oracle and Quantinuum are positioning themselves to capture early demand from industries such as pharmaceuticals, logistics, and financial services, where quantum algorithms may eventually deliver competitive advantages.
